AUD/AutoCAD Training Course

I partnered with a major provider of Gas and Electricity in the Southern California Area to create curriculum for a revolutionary new way of designing gas and electric facilities in AutoCAD.

This year-long program was an extremely valuable and rewarding experience, and I am proud of the work I accomplished here.

In order to properly instruct on the program that designers would eventually be using, I created a couple of different simulations that each user would have to work through depending on their role in the company, whether they were preparing for a new job, working on laying down gas lines, or outlining electrical grids. Each video I created walks a designer through a typical job, pointing out each step of the process that they would have to do while using the software.

These videos were made through a combination of using the AUD program itself and carefully capturing every stage of the job on Camtasia. I also utilized Camtasia to edit the video, add essential callouts, and simulate parts of the program that had yet to be fully developed. Each of these separate videos were placed in Storyline 360 and had triggers put in to allow the learner to jump to specific videos that detailed a different part of the design process. Finally, the video is voiced by professional-sounding audio generated and edited in WellSaidLabs.

Both videos here are also accompanied with Quick User Guides designed in Microsoft Word for easy reference.

IQGeo Work Hub

I designed and developed a comprehensive training program for IQGeo, a leading geospatial network management platform used by utility companies to map, monitor, and optimize critical infrastructure in real time. This program equipped dispatchers and first responders at a major Pacific Northwest utility company with the skills to effectively leverage IQGeo for rapid decision-making, situational awareness, and streamlined field operations.

Through engaging videos, hands-on simulations, and interactive training modules, I translated complex geospatial data workflows into practical, real-world applications, ensuring users could navigate the system, analyze live network data, and respond efficiently to service disruptions. By focusing on operational excellence and real-time network visibility, my training empowered teams to improve response times, enhance coordination, and optimize utility operations, reinforcing IQGeo as an essential tool in their daily work.

The software was captured through the use of Camtasia and integrated into Articulate Storyline 360.

Distribution Controller 1st Year Program

I worked with a major utilities provider in Texas to convert the entire first year of their Dispatcher Apprentice Training into eLearning. This is an ongoing project that synthesizes gamified content, traditional online learning, and real-world simulations and scenarios to prepare a Dispatcher as thoroughly as possible for the job.

The following examples take a Dispatcher Trainee through scenarios of what they are expected to accomplish during different types of outages. Here the learner actively clicks through multiple screens in order to practice assigning an outage and dispatching an electric truck to work on said outage. While these examples direct the learner on what to do, they require significant thinking and problem solving on the trainee’s end and accurately simulate what they are expected to do in a real-world situation.

These courses are graded scenario walkthroughs built on Articulate Storyline with significant images edited using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Images have been directly taken from the Dispatch Controller software.

CMX Training

I created Compliance Software Training for several notable franchises in the fast-food industry. This specific project was catered to several different audiences based on access and management level within the restaurant and walked each type of user through how to interface with their side of the application.

The CMX software is a comprehensive system that tracks not only all payments in a restaurant (or several restaurants depending on level of access) it also takes into account inventory as well as dealing with scheduling for employees and deliveries.

This particular training walks a user through the various feature of the program using simulations reinforced by graphic callouts. This was built in Articulate Storyline with supplemental additions from Adobe Photoshop. All parts have been narrated through computer generated WellSaidLabs.
