I partnered with a major provider of Gas and Electricity in the Southern California Area to create curriculum for a revolutionary new way of designing gas and electric facilities in AutoCAD.
This year-long program was an extremely valuable and rewarding experience, and I am proud of the work I accomplished here.
In order to properly instruct on the program that designers would eventually be using, I created a couple of different simulations that each user would have to work through depending on their role in the company, whether they were preparing for a new job, working on laying down gas lines, or outlining electrical grids. Each video I created walks a designer through a typical job, pointing out each step of the process that they would have to do while using the software.
These videos were made through a combination of using the AUD program itself and carefully capturing every stage of the job on Camtasia. I also utilized Camtasia to edit the video, add essential callouts, and simulate parts of the program that had yet to be fully developed. Each of these separate videos were placed in Storyline 360 and had triggers put in to allow the learner to jump to specific videos that detailed a different part of the design process. Finally, the video is voiced by professional-sounding audio generated and edited in WellSaidLabs.
Both videos here are also accompanied with Quick User Guides designed in Microsoft Word for easy reference.
